At Supply Solutions Group (SSG), we believe that investing in people creates lasting opportunities. That's why we're proud to celebrate the second year of our SSG Indigenous Support Scholarship, recognising exceptional academic achievement and supporting Indigenous Australians as they continue building successful careers in the mining industry.
This year's scholarship has been awarded to Daniel, who was selected for his outstanding commitment and academic performance throughout his training with DreamPath, an Indigenous training program for mine haul truck operators. Since completing the program, Daniel has joined Thiess and is continuing to build his career with a clear vision for the future.
With aspirations of becoming a supervisor in the mining industry, Daniel has chosen to further his education by undertaking a Work Health and Safety (WHS) course. Through the SSG Indigenous Support Scholarship, we're proud to fund his studies and support the next step in his professional journey.
The scholarship continues to build on the success of last year's inaugural recipient, Tanayha, who also works with Thiess. Like Daniel, Tanayha Smurthwaite used the scholarship to complete the same qualification while working towards her own leadership goals within the industry.
Seeing both recipients continue to advance their careers highlights what this initiative is all about—supporting education, creating opportunity, and helping develop the next generation of Indigenous leaders in mining and construction.
Congratulations to Daniel on receiving the 2026 SSG Indigenous Support Scholarship. We look forward to following his journey and celebrating his future achievements.
